Where do you practice?

Outdoor practice varies and depends on field availability. Practices are held at; Warhill Sports Complex in Williamsburg, CNU in Newport News, Powhatan Stadium in Norfolk, and the Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach. Indoor practices are currently at the Hampton YMCA.


How often do you practice?

Our club usually practices four times a month, year-round, both indoor and outdoor. Practices are weekly. Exceptions to this are: holidays, severe weather*, tournament conflicts, or other club conflicts. (*Rain and cold weather are not considered severe weather.) In addition to weekly practices, we also have weekly strength and conditioning training.


Are there tryouts?

We currently do not have tryouts to be a club member; although, we do hold tryouts for specific tournament teams.


Are there fitness requirements?

Yes. Players are required to attend weekly strength and conditioning training sessions. Players are also required to submit weekly conditioning reports.

Players are tested for progress approximately every six weeks.


Are there requirements to be on tournament teams?

Yes. Players need to attend practice on a regular basis and meet the fitness requirements stated above.


Do you need to be a member of USA Field Hockey (USAFH)?

Yes. A USAFH membership is required. If you don’t have a membership, you can follow the link below. Please select Hawks Premier as your club when you register. USAFH membership for U12 players is $25 and for player U14-U19 it is $60.


Is there a code of conduct?

Yes. We feel that good sportsmanship is imperative from our players and parents. Upon joining, players will have to sign a Code of Conduct form.

Do you have a sibling discount?

Yes. The first sibling will pay the full rate of monthly membership dues and additional sibling members will receive a 15% discount on monthly membership dues. 

Is there a financial agreement required?

Yes, to stay an active member players agree to pay their monthly dues for their registration year.

What are the cost of uniforms and are they required?

Uniforms are $75 for two jerseys and a pair of shorts, and are required if you would like to play on a national tournament team. 

Do you have to wear a club pinnie to practice?

Yes, club practice pinnies are required to be worn at practice and are $25.


How much does it cost to be a member?

Monthly fees are $100, due the first day of the month.

Annual fee per family is $100, due annually  August 5, and prorated quarterly for new joining members as follows;

August - October $100

November - January $75

February - Aril $50

May - July $25

Tournament Cost Varies.

Can you attend practices without committing to an annual membership?

Yes. You can attend practices for a drop-in rate of $30 a practice. 

Only players with an active membership may participate on a tournament team. (club director may grant exceptions to tournament teams based on the need of the team)
